Professor De Vierville received his BA and MA in American Studies from Bowling Green State University, Ohio (69/70); attended The International College of Copenhagen and University of Copenhagen, Denmark (67/68); trained at The C. G. Jung Institute for Analytical Psychology, Zürich, Switzerland (70/74); received his Masters of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from The Worden School of Social Service at Our Lady of The Lake, University of San Antonio, Texas (75/76); received The Bath Master Certificate from The Sebastian Kneipp School of Physiotherapy, Bad Wörishofen, Germany (85/87/89/90/92);
His Ph.D. was written and received from The Department of American Studies and Civilization at the University of Texas, Austin where he wrote a two-volume dissertation: "A History of American Spas and Healing Waters."
He has presented at the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), The Global Medicine Foundation (GMF), The Mind Science Foundation (MSF), The Global Spa and Wellness Summits (GSWS), Washington Spa Alliance (WSPA) and other professional institutes and historical associations including The International Society for the Comparative Study of Civilization.
Since the 2003 summer season Dr. De Vierville has been visiting the fields of England, Europe and the USA, where annually has walked, watched, slept and dreamt in the mysterious and curios field formations known commonly as “Crop Circles” and in other words: “Informational-Field-Imaged-Forms”(IF2s). He is an active member of the Independent Crop Circle Research Association (ICCRA.ORG) and has presented in America and Europe on this worldwide Planetary Cosmological Mystery.
Dr. De Vierville’s teaching and research interests are in the cultural history of Waters, spas, wellness, balneology and natural therapeutic health care systems as well as Oneirology (study of dreams), consciousness, psyche, time, sacred geometry and new cosmologies which he has taught and practiced at colleges, universities, clinics, spas and health resorts in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
He is a retired Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor and Depth-Analytical and Archetypal Psychotherapist. He served as Secretary for The International Spa Association and Education Foundation (ISPA) and as a board member for The International and American Societies of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMHC). Currently he serves as Vice President for The Balneology Association of North America (BANA) and The Hot Springs Association (HSA) and is a member of The Green Spa Network (GSN). Before the COVID pandemic he owned and operated for three decades The Alamo Plaza Spa in the historic Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.
Periodically he offers: DREAM TIMES, SPA CULTURES & CONSCIOUS COSMOS (www.spacultures.com) an experiential seminar/symposium that approaches deeper domains, realms of meaning, and archetypal patterns and purpose that can manifest from The Waters & Spa Cultures. Here is when and where participants engage, entangle and experience holistic meaning and wholeness emerging from within and throughput their personal, social, cultural, balneological and cosmological Dreaming.
